Description
I set out for downtown Toronto on a sunny spring afternoon with the specific goal of shooting architectural abstracts. In almost any weather or light, the south tower of the Royal Bank Plaza always shows well.
In the right light this tower, and its adjacent north tower, gleam with gold, literally. When it was built in the late 1970s, 2,500 oz. of gold were used in the manufacturing of the window panes for both towers combined.
The light reflected off this golden glass often casts very warm tones. You can see an example of such light as it warms up the concrete edge of the western most corner of the building. Another example is in Architectural Abstract - 59.
