I might have been at The Pond, or The Lake, but wherever I was in New York City's Central Park, I was walking towards the water, looking into the sun, and I saw two ducks swimming in my direction. I immediately noticed the wake each left behind, swung my camera up and clicked. When I worked on this file in Photoshop, I cranked the contrast way up to eliminate all detail and every tone between black and white.

Many things catch my eye, including nature, landscapes, cityscapes, abstracts and people, but my favourite discoveries are often moments. As I walk, I keep my camera ready, adjusting settings as I go for changing light conditions, or in anticipation of a moment unfolding ahead of me. These moments can be fleeting and I like to be ready when they are.
