After a long day of wandering around Stockholm, I found myself at Stadshuset, the city hall. I had already photographed it from another of Stockholm's many islands and now was fascinated by how people walking between the building's columns seemed to appear and disappear. This young boy, dressed in what may well be the blue we see in Sweden's flag, appears to me to be blindly following his mother, trusting her as young boys will, to protect him from whatever awaits on the other side of those big columns.

Whether I'm exploring the world or in and around Toronto, I like to explore with my camera. Many things catch my eye, including nature, landscapes, cityscapes, abstracts and people, but my favourite discoveries are often moments. As I walk, I keep my camera ready, adjusting settings as I go for changing light conditions, or in anticipation of a moment unfolding ahead of me. These moments can be fleeting and I like to be ready when they are.
