Yangshuo is situated in south central China, in the Guangxi Autonomous region, bordering on Vietnam. The northern border of Yangshuo is formed by the Li River. I hired a bicycle and set out for a spin on the backroads surrounding Yangshuo on a humid 36 degree Celsius afternoon. Dripping with sweat as I moved in the opposite direction, it occurred to me that the woman with the hat that walked past me would be a focal point set against the backdrop of the karst peaks that dominate this area.

Whether I'm exploring the world or in and around Toronto, I like to explore with my camera. Many things catch my eye, including nature, landscapes, cityscapes, abstracts and people, but my favourite discoveries are often moments. As I walk, I keep my camera ready, adjusting settings as I go for changing light conditions, or in anticipation of a moment unfolding ahead of me. These moments can be fleeting and I like to be ready when they are.
