Artist's Description

Standing at the south west corner of Scott & Front streets in downtown Toronto, I looked north at the building at 33 Yonge Street to see the reflection of the part Novotel Hotel, part condo behind me. I love how the imperfections in the glass render the reflection so imperfectly. To get this shot, you have to be there late on a sunny afternoon for the lighting conditions to make this reflection work. This is one of two close up views in this quick study that really shows the distortion. Unfortunately, a new condo tower between these two buildings now intrudes on this shot.

About Rick Shea

Rick Shea

Full-time marketing & business development consultant, part-time photographer, lifetime lover of photography. I love to explore. Whether I'm exploring the world or in and around Toronto, I like to explore with my camera. Many things catch my eye, including nature, landscapes, cityscapes, abstracts and people, but my favourite discoveries are often moments. As I walk, I keep my camera ready, adjusting settings as I go for changing light conditions, or in anticipation of a moment unfolding ahead of me. These moments can be fleeting and I like to be ready when they are.
